Surface set bits of this style have a long bit life and the matrix is not easy to be damaged, surface set is mostly used in the core bits with bit kerf thickness less than 11mm. It can drill various formations. core bits with semi-round profile has long bit life, and can avoid damage. when the bit kerf thickness is over 11mm with semi-round profile can be applied in drilling abrasive formations. |

bits Matrix crown Multi-step profile: impregnated bits are suitable for soft to medium hard formations and alternating hard-soft formations. With very good drilling stability, it makes the borehole not liable to deflection and the penetration fast. This profile is also often adopted in thick-kerf surface set core bits, with good drilling stability and fast penetration. when core bit kerf thickness is over 11mm with stepped profile, core bits can obtain high penetration rate with good stability in drilling. but we don't recommend multi-stepped core bits in fractured very abrasive formations. When the core bit of bit kerf less than 11mm has stepped profile can facilitate drilling speed and have better drilling stability. |
