pdc non coring bits offer an excellent penetration rate and a long lifespan. The pdc non-coring drill bits have irregularly shaped diamond cutters (also referred to as wings). These cutters are powerful enough to shear rock (of different grades of hardness) and penetrate deep into various formations. In addition, many sintered studs made of polycrystalline diamonds are added to the matrix to increase the drilling speed and prolong the lifespan of the drill bit. Effective hydraulic cooling also helps to keep the hole neat and clean while keeping the drilling bit cool during operation. They also offer excellent shock and impact resistance, they are proved successful in strength formations ranging from soft to moderate and homogeneous hard formations.

PDC non-coring bits have been used to provide a high penetration rate in many rock formations in civil engineering, mining, and oil and gas exploration since they were introduced over three decades ago. Their designs are usually modified to suit the type of rock to be drilled. For instance, the number of studs added to each bit will increase the capacity of the bit, when drilling harder surfaces. The larger the bit, the greater the number of studs that are added to it. PDC bits are usually used to drill through sandstone, limestone, dolomite, shale and other sedimentary rock formations. These bits are the preferred choice for hard rock formations like limestone and dolomite because of their durability – they offer high resistance to wear even after repeated use. These bits are also used to work on sandstone because they provide a strong shearing force at a significantly higher speed than other kinds of bits. PDC non-coring bits are available in various sizes from 50mm to 190mm diameter. The size of the connection thread ranges from 2 3/8 inches to 3 1/2 inches. |
